PRESENTATION: Box of 24 sachets x 20 g.

Stoccel P containing aluminium phosphate is used as a gastric antacid in the form of gel. Aluminium phosphate decreases excess gastric acid to reduce acidity in the stomach: the collodial gel contained in Stoccel P provides a mucus-like protective film, which covers a large section of the digestive tract mucosa. The protective film containing the finely dispersed aluminium phosphate allows rapid healing of inflammation and ulceration, protects the gastric mucosa from external influences, and thus rapidly alleviates the patient’s discomfort.

Stoccel P is not normally absorbed in the body and it does not affect the acid-alkaline balance of the body.

Aluminium phosphate slowly dissolves in the stomach and reacts with hydrochloric acid to form aluminium chloride and water. Approximately 17 - 30% of formed aluminium chloride is absorbed and excreted via the kidney; the unabsorbed aluminium phosphate will be expelled via the stools. Aluminium phosphate has a strong point of not affecting the phosphate absorption in the gastrointestinal tract.

Reduction of the symptoms caused by increased gastric acid (including heartburn, indigestion).

Treatment of increased gastric acid in peptic ulcer (however there are currently more effective and non-recurrent treatment measures).

Prevention and treatment of peptic ulcers and bleeding caused by stress.

Symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux.

Hypersensitivity to any components of the drug. Severe renal impairment.

High doses and long-term administration should not be applied in patients with kidney failure.

If the symptoms of indigestion, heartburn do not withdraw after 2 weeks with antacid therapy, it is needed to seek medical care.

If constipation state occurs concurrently, it is possible to use alternately or switch to magnesium-containing antacids.

Antacids are considered to be safe as long as avoid using high doses with long-term administration.

The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery.

Aluminium phosphate may enhance or diminish the absorption of concomitantly administered drugs due to changing the moving duration through the gastrointestinal tract or due to associating or complexing with the drug. Therefore, the oral interval between aluminium phosphate and other drugs should be at least 1 to 2 to avoid interaction.

Aluminium phosphate diminishes the absorption of digoxin, indomethacin, iron salt, isoniazid, chlodiazepoxide, naproxen.

Aluminium phosphate causes an increase in the absorption of dicumarol, pseudoephedrine, diazepam.

Aluminium phosphate elevates urine pH, decreases the elimination of drugs that are weak bases (amphetamine, quinidine, etc.), enhances the elimination of drugs that are weak acids (aspirin, etc.).

Constipation may occur, particularly in the bedridden invalid and/or the elderly. Taking much water is recommended to these patients.

Inform your physician about any adverse effects occur during the treatment.
